Don't go back to the 90s. Fashion trends change as soon as you have decided to embrace them. But it doesn't mean it won't come back. We've seen how fashion trends come back from previous decades, but the 90s is certainly not in right now. What's with the 90s that really makes us look so bad today? Just look at your pictures 10 years ago or movies that are at least 10 years old and you'll get what we mean. Ten years from now, you'll be looking at your pictures or videos we made today. How will we see ourselves then? Only time will tell. Meantime, you just don't want to wear platform sneakers that made the Baby Spice of the Spice Girls the 90s fashion icon.
Less is definitely more. This phrase may apply for certain things but if we are talking about too short skirt, dress or pants, there is something wrong with your fashion. Take note that there is only one room in fashion that doesn't change: if you are not comfortable with what you wear, don't wear it. So if you are always too conscious when you sit down without having to worry about exposing areas of your body that you don't want to be seen, then, you have no business in wearing it.
Too trendy is not trendy. Trendy is a term used when you are "in style", but adding "too" gives a whole new meaning. Layers are good only if you know how to do it. Accessories are fine only if you know how to mix and match. But if you go beyond the line, you just end up looking silly so try not to attempt wearing too good just to adapt the latest fashion trends. You may just end up looking too bad.
Exposing your undergarments. You probably know this already, but it seems that some need to be reminded. Keep your bra and panty hidden. This goes to everyone no matter which style they follow.
80s is still not in. You may love Janet Jackson, but the fashion trends during the 80s can never be accepted in our time. Make sure that you avoid baggy pants, too much denim, and matching it with curly hair.
There are ways to dress up, look good. You may or may not even have to follow the current fashion trends. But the bottom line here is if you want to look normal, at least during this time, you wear what others wear. You don't lose your personal taste in the process. You just have to make sure that you know what the things you should avoid.
